Do you love having wild horses in your area and want to keep them wild and safe? Volunteers are needed to do just that. AWHPC works with local residents and groups in your area to keep the Virginia Range horses wild and safe through our Cooperative Agreement with the state of Nevada.
Please join in this rewarding work on behalf of the Virginia Range horses! We need hands and we need leaders! There are varied opportunities from big to small, infrequent to frequent, physical to desk work. Below are a few of the areas where we could use your help:
♦ Move horses out of streets and neighborhoods (we will train)
♦ Walk fence line and report repairs needed
♦ Mend or help building fences (projects small to large)
♦ Clean out cattle guards
♦ Fundraising ideas and implementation
♦ Community relations event ideas and implementation
♦ Distribute door-to-door neighborhood flyers
♦ Monitor and report issues
♦ Gentle wild horses taken from the range in preparation for adoption
♦ Document bands of horses in your area for our database (# in band, stallion, male/female, photos, etc.)
If you are interested to volunteer please let us know -- send an email to Tamara at [email protected].
We hope to hear from you!
Thank you for caring about America’s wild horses and burros!
