Wild Horses Illegally Sold for Slaughter by BLM: Fight Back!

On Friday, the Interior Department Office of Inspector General (OIG) confirmed what we've known for three years -- that 1,794 federally protected wild horses who were rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) were illegally sold and sent to slaughter. With a massive roundup of 1,400 wild horses set to start in Oregon on Monday, it could happen again. We can stop this, but only if we act NOW to demand that Congress and the Administration put a stop to BLM's mustang and burro roundup program. There is not a moment to waste, please act today!

Nearly 20,000 Citizens Oppose Massive Oregon Mustang Roundup

You spoke out and we made sure your voice was heard. On Tuesday in Oregon, AWHPC hand delivered a petition signed by nearly 20,000 citizens opposing the BLM's plan to conduct a mega mustang roundup in Oregon beginning next week. The petitions were given to the two citizen advisory boards that oversee BLM policy affecting all of Oregon's 17 wild horse and burro Herd Management Areas. Thank you for helping us make our statement that "The wishes of the American public for the management of our public lands must be heard!" -- a very strong one.
