Take a Stand Against Mega Roundup in Oregon

Beginning on Oct. 26, 2015, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) intends to begin the massive roundup and removal of 1,500 wild horses from the Beatys Butte Herd Management Area (HMA) in southeastern Oregon. The roundup is being done to appease ranchers who graze cattle in the HMA and will come at a steep cost to American taxpayers and the horses themselves.

Sulphur Mustangs Rescued with Help from AWHPC Supporters

In February, the BLM rounded up 103 wild horses from the Sulphur Springs HMA in Utah. The Sulphur horses are known for their dun color, primitive markings and direct links to their Spanish colonial ancestors. A total of 19 of these special mustangs have found sanctuary, and AWHPC's supporters' generous contributions have helped to underwrite their care.

BLM to Proceed with Use of GonaCon on Nevada Wild Horses

The BLM in Nevada is proceeding with a plan to use GonaCon, an experimental birth control vaccine, on wild horses in the Antelope HMA in the absence of scientific oversight and despite scientific recommendations that the drug needs further study to determine if it is safe and effective before being used in wild herds.
