Local Heroes Save Virginia Range Foal

When the call came in over Easter week about a foal in need on the Virginia Range, local heroes in Nevada were ready. The tiny filly had been spotted on the range with her mother and family. She had a serious facial injury and was having difficulty breathing. In short measure, the good folks from Least Resistance Training Concepts (LRTC) in Stagecoach arrived on the scene to rescue her. Tell BLM Advisory Board to Keep Wild Horses Wild!

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board will meet on April 22-23, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio. Click below for details on the meeting in case you can attend, and to send a strong message to this board in favor of humane, on-the-range management of wild horses and burros. This advisory board is stacked with members who promote the interests of livestock ranchers over those of wild horses and burros. However, several new members will be seated at this meeting, making this  an important, and hopefully, influential time to demonstrate the widespread and strong public support for wild horse and burro protection! The BLM intends to remove 2,000 wild horses and burros from their homes on the range this fiscal year, so there is not a moment to waste!

Senior Sulphur Stallion is the Face of the BLM's Inhumanity

He was once wild and free, a proud stallion, living for decades on the range in Utah's Sulphur Spring Herd Management Area. Now the 25-year old mustang is confined to a barren and bleak holding pen, yet another victim of a BLM helicopter roundup. Grulla Stallion #3907, as he is known to the BLM, will be sold at an internet auction on April 21, with a starting bid of just $25. Unlike the BLM, we know that no dollar value can be placed on this elder stallion's life, his wisdom, his courage, his experience of 25 years living wild and free. We believe that instead of auctioning off this magnificent stallion like a piece of furniture, the BLM should release him with other captured horses back to his home on the range. It's high time the BLM establish a firm policy of leaving elder horses like the beautiful Sulphur Stallion on the range. If you agree, please take action below.
