Last week, we wrote to tell you that we were launching an online petition calling on President Obama to name Rep. Raul Grijalva as the next Interior Secretary.
I'm excited to report that in just a few days, over 11,000 citizens have already signed on to the petition.
On Friday, NBC News reported that Grijalva was an "early favorite" to be named to the position. And today, we learned that Former Congressman Dennis Kucinich has also announced his support of Grijalva.
If you haven't already, please take a minute to add your voice and sign the petition at www.AppointRaul.com.
We don't know when the President will make his decision on the Interior post, but we do know that the time to keep the pressure on the Administration is right now.
Grijalva as Interior Secretary would be a major victory for our campaign to protect and safeguard America's wild horses and burros by bringing to an end the inhumane and ineffective roundup program and instituting real reforms to the Bureau of Land Management. Grijalva will stand up to the special interests and be a strong advocate for preservation of our public lands for generations to come.
We know that the pressure is building to name Grijalva. Now we need your help to continue the momentum. Please sign our petition at www.AppointRaul.com.
