All hands-on deck! Your presence is requested – and urgently needed -- this Wednesday, November 8 at 11 AM in Carson City for a rally to protect our local Virginia Range mustangs from roundup and slaughter.
We will be calling on Governor Sandoval to the State's rash decision to cancel the Cooperative Agreements that allow for our community-based Virginia Range rescue and humane birth control program.
WHEN: Wednesday, November 8, 2017 @ 11am
WHERE: Capitol Building, 101 N Carson St, Carson City, NV 89701
WHY: Urge Governor Sandoval to rescind the termination notice for the Virginia Range horse Cooperative Agreements with the American Wild Horse Campaign that allow for rescue and humane management of the Virginia Range Horses.
Signs and leaflets will be provided.
MORE INFORMATION: For more information, call Louise Martin (Wild Horse Connection) at 775-830-1749
The historic Virginia Range horses are threatened by habitat loss due to development. Increasing horse numbers cause threats to both public safety and horse welfare. Without the birth control program to humanely reduce population growth, more horses will be born, horse-vehicle accidents will increase and more of these beloved horses will be rounded up and removed from their homes on the range.
Please mark your calendar, take time off from work, and tell your friends and family to show up this Wednesday! Help us make a strong showing in protest of Governor Sandoval’s cancellation of this humane and successful public/private partnership to protect the Virginia Range horses!
Also, if you’ve not done so yet, please contact Governor Sandoval directly. Let him know that cancellation of these Agreements is a slap in the face to all Nevadans who have worked so hard to make the Horse Cooperative Agreements a success.
