Tell Congress to Ban U.S. Horse Slaughter & Export Once & For All!

America's horses need your help. Over 100,000 horses each year are shipped across the border and are brutally slaughtered. The threat of slaughter for America's wild horses is real. The SAFE Act would protect America's horses by banning horse slaughter in the U.S. and prohibiting the transport of American horses to Canada and Mexico for slaughter. It was reintroduced with bipartisan support in the House of Representatives last week. Your support is needed for this important legislation. The lives of hundreds of thousands of horses -- both domestic and wild -- are at stake, so please take action today!

Future of Public Lands & Wild Horses Topics at Interior Secretary Confirmation Hearing

Last week at a three-hour confirmation hearing, Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT), President Trump's nominee for Secretary of Interior, fielded a wide range of questions spanning topics like climate change, energy development, national monuments and tribal sovereignty. Newly elected Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) also questioned Zinke specifically about wild horses, asking what he will do to address the humane management of these animals under the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) jurisdiction. Find out what you need to know about this important confirmation hearing by clicking below.

The BLM is galloping ahead with cruel and costly helicopter roundups, with plans to permanently remove approximately 650 horses from three Herd Management Areas (HMAs) in Utah and the Reveille HMA in Nevada. After these operations are complete, the agency will pause its roundup program for foaling season, March through June. Read more about the pending roundups, those currently underway and those completed below!
